Tulpenmanie
Deze rood-wit gevlamde tulpen, de Semper augustus, werden tijdens de tulpenmanie vernoemd naar de Romeinse keizer, de verhevene Augustus, dat was rond 1635; ze kostten toen 2500 zilveren guldens per bol. Later kregen ze de naam Rembrandttulpen.
